Inge Thorn Engler, founder and director of the Bostonia Chamber Music Players, maintains a private teaching studio in Weston Massachusetts.
Ms. Engler received her training in New York City with Ivan Galamian and Yura Osmolovsky. She began studying the violin at age 4, and it has been her passion ever since. She attended the High School of Music and Art, received her bachelors degree at Antioch College in Ohio, and studied further with Max Winder of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Since arriving in the Boston area she has free-lanced widely and continuously. Highlights have been 10 years with Sarah Caldwells Opera Company of Boston, subbing with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and the Boston Ballet, five years with the Young Audiences String Quartet, and many years as solo violinist with Brown Bag Opera Company.
Ms. Engler teaches both violin and viola and accepts students ages 8 to 88, with the only requirements being a love of music, the desire to master the instrument, and a strong commitment to making that happen.
